Our interoperable operational, simulation, and test systems bring the enterprise to the warfighter using tactical networked communications for data, voice, multimedia, and information management. As a Principal Communications Engineer, you will support a variety of program and proposal efforts. Perform technical planning and project execution; help to analyze cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness for end-to-end systems communications. Perform analyses at all levels of communications system product to include: concept, modeling and simulation, design, implementation, test, installation, operation and maintenance. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total communications systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer communication system requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications for this position include a Masters degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10-12 years of communications systems engineering and development experience in military systems. Additionally, the following are required: Proven experience with personally creating systems engineering solutions. Demonstrated success on communications systems projects with multifunctional teams that included engineering, production, system test, field testing, field deployment, training, and logistics support for military users. Experience with current military communications systems and data links, such as: Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS), Link 16, EPLRS, or CDL; network design and management; military voice radios and certification and accreditation. Potential candidate must possess team leadership, communication skills, and an ability to work with/communicate with external suppliers and customers. Requires skills in two or more of the following: communications systems architecture development, communications systems modeling, hardware design, software and aircraft integration.
