Description
Senior System Safety engineer within the HALE SEIT Specialty Engineering department. The successful candidate should have knowledge of MIL-STD-882 processes, System Safety experience with military aircraft, as well as a working knowledge of aircraft concepts and operations as well as probability and statistics. Knowledge of Relex is also a plus. Familiarity with commercial practices including ARP 4761, electronic systems and circuits, or mechanical systems is also required. Technical responsibilities include execution of System Safety analyses and assessments to identify, track, and control potential safety hazards that may impact the safety of personnel or equipment. These include Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, generation of Risk Assessments, review of safety assessments and engineering designs for compliance with established safety criteria, anomaly investigations, and providing support to Crisis Management Teams, as required. Provide technical leadership to group members and mentor less experienced engineers. The Senior System Safety engineer will also support the Flight Certifications group in achieving Airworthiness Certification, as required. The ability to express engineering findings orally and in written technical reports is essential. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering or Physics with at least nine years applicable experience. US citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a security clearance. Basic Qualifications: BS in Engineering or Physics with at least nine years applicable experience and knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and ARP 4761 is required, along with the ability to obtain a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: It is preferred that the candidate be familiar with commercial practices including those specified by the FAA and in DO-178B. Relocation Assistance Available.
